Meet the Candidate
Andrew Day was born and raised in Frankfort and has spent his entire life in Clinton County.
He graduated from Frankfort High School, went on to Ball State University, and later earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting through Indiana Wesleyan University's accelerated online program, finishing his coursework at night while working full time at Frito-Lay and raising a one-year-old son.
His career began on the plant floor. Andrew started at Frito-Lay as a packer and worked his way into the administrative side of the operation. By the time he left in 2016, he was serving as raw materials coordinator, responsible for the production department for the entire plant. Everything from oil to potatoes to packaging ran through him, and he supervised a team of roughly ten people across both day and night shifts.
Since September 2017, Andrew has worked as the utility auditor for Frankfort Municipal Utilities, where his daily responsibilities closely mirror the financial work of the Clerk-Treasurer's office aside from the city court responsibilities. He also serves as Secretary of the Frankfort Municipal Utility Service Board, overseeing utility funds reporting, financial statements, and audit preparation. He stepped into that role after the seat had sat vacant for six months, inherited a backlog, and had the end-of-year reports completed and ready on schedule.
Andrew's commitment to Frankfort extends well past his day job. He is the head boys varsity soccer coach at Frankfort High School, now in his fourth season with the program and his third as head coach. Through the United Pentecostal Church International, he built the accounting system that his church organization uses across the State of Indiana, rebuilding processes that had fallen out of order. He still keeps those books today.
That combination of hands-on operations experience, professional accounting credentials, and years of municipal finance work is what Andrew brings to the candidacy for Frankfort’s Clerk-Treasurer's office. He has spent his career being accountable for other people's money, and he intends to hold that same standard in service to the residents of the city of Frankfort.
